North of the square or in the Java language called Square Lor is one of Yogyakarta city land mark in the form of a field that is in front of the Sultan Palace. The square called Lor as in the city of Yogyakarta, there are two square that is located in the south and north of the Sultan Palace.

In ancient times, Square Lor is a sacred area where not just anyone is allowed to enter it. This is done as a form of homage to the King palace Ngayogyakarta.

Another unusual event held here is the arts and cultural performances, music concerts, fairs, cycling, and other activities.


The trip to the Square Lor is very easy because it lies in the middle of Yogyakarta City with easy access to get there. If you are from the Malioboro street, then straight south through the intersection toward zero kilo meters.
